Paul Alexander, CFA, joined Consensus in March 2017. Prior to Consensus, Mr. Alexander worked at BB&T Capital Markets as Vice President – Senior Equity Research Analyst, with lead coverage of Soft line, Off-Price, and Beauty retailers, from 2014 to 2016. Prior to BB&T, Mr. Alexander followed the same sectors as a research analyst with Bank of America Merrill Lynch from 2007 to 2014. Across his time at BB&T and BofA Merrill Lynch, Mr. Alexander had either lead coverage or supporting coverage of over 30 retail stocks, and participated in the vetting of several retail IPO’s, including lululemon, Express, and Restoration Hardware.
Before joining Merrill Lynch, Mr. Alexander began his career as a merchandiser at J.Crew (from 2005 to 2007) and Abercrombie & Fitch (from 2003 to 2005). At these companies, he was responsible for buying many product categories, including suits and sportscoats, outerwear, sweatshirts, and shirts, and he presented his lines regularly to J.Crew’s and Abercrombie’s respective CEOs, Mickey Drexler, and Mike Jeffries.
Mr. Alexander holds a bachelor’s degree in politics from Princeton University and is a member of the CFA Institute.
